Our password strength requirements use an advanced library to minimise the ability for someone to guess or crack your password. You could consider the use a phrase as your password which would meet the requirements, something like a favourite song lyric. "say goodbye to hollywood" is an example of a strong password. We recommend combinations of lower and upper case, numbers or special charactersA strong password helps protect your information and accounts from unauthorised access and reduces the risk of your accounts being compromised by hackers.

A strong password should:

  • Be long, ideally at least 12 characters.

  • Avoid common words, phrases, and patterns (e.g., “password123” or “qwerty”).

  • Not be based on easily guessable information like your name, birthdate, or common keyboard patterns.

Here are some tips:

  • Use a passphrase: Combine random words into a phrase such as “BlueSkyMountainRiver” or “GiraffesRunFastInTheSavannah”, these examples are long and avoid common patterns.

  • Make it memorable but unique: Use a sentence or a series of unrelated words that you can easily remember.
