How can I set a strong password?
A strong password helps protect your information and accounts from unauthorised access and reduces the risk of your accounts being compromised by hackers.
A strong password should:
- Be long, ideally at least 12 characters.
- Avoid common words, phrases, and patterns (e.g., “password123” or “qwerty”).
- Not be based on easily guessable information like your name, birthdate, or common keyboard patterns.
Here are some tips:
- Use a passphrase: Combine random words into a phrase such as “BlueSkyMountainRiver” or “GiraffesRunFastInTheSavannah”, these examples are long and avoid common patterns.
- Make it memorable but unique: Use a sentence or a series of unrelated words that you can easily remember.
