How do I match my customers?

How do I match my customers?

Matching your customers in Satago allows you to monitor their credit ratings and unlock their credit profiles. This guide explains how the matching process works and what to do if some customers are not automatically matched.

How customer matching works

After you have matched your own company, Satago will automatically attempt to match your customers to our company database using the information from your accounting package. If the customer name in your records matches the legal entity name, the match will happen automatically.

However, sometimes the system may not be able to match a customer—this can happen if the names do not align exactly or if the customer is a sole trader or based outside the UK.

How to match unmatched customers

  1. Go to the Unmatched Customers section on your dashboard.

  1. Find the customer you want to match. Use the dropdown on the right-hand side of the unmatched company’s name.

  1. Search for the correct company using either the company name or registration number.

  2. Once you find the correct company, select it. The system will automatically update the match and unlock the customer’s credit profile.

What if I can’t match a customer?

If you cannot find a match for a customer (for example, if they are a sole trader or located outside the UK), you can use the Individual or Unmatchable option. This will remove them from the Unmatched Customers section of your Dashboard.
