Sage 50 Connector - Troubleshooting Steps
This guide will help you resolve common issues when connecting your Sage 50 accounts package to Satago using the Sage 50 Connector. Follow the steps below to ensure your connection work smoothly and data imports automatically.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Locate your Sage 50 Connector
The Sage 50 Connector should be installed on the same machine or server as your main Sage 50 accounts package.
If you do not have access to this machine, please contact your IT support team.
Note: The connector should only be installed on one machine or server.
2. Check the Windows Service
Open the Services app (type “services” in your Windows search bar).
Find Satago Sage 50 Connector in the list.
Ensure Status is “Running” and Startup Type is “Automatic.”
If not running, double-click the service and click Start.
If Startup Type is not automatic, double click on the 'Satago Sage 50 Connector' service, set it to Automatic from the drop-down 'Startup Type' menu and click OK.
3. Check Your Sync Settings
Right-click the Sage 50 Connector icon in your programs tray and select Company List.
Confirm the Data Path matches what is shown in Sage 50.
Ensure the Sync Enabled box is ticked.
If not, double-click your company name, tick the box, click Save, and close the window.
Click View Settings (or right-click the connector icon and select Settings).
Ensure Only upload from this computer (master) is ticked.
Click Check For Updates.
4. Check for Recent Sage 50 Upgrades or Data Folder Changes
In Sage, go to Help > About > Data Directory to check if the Data Directory has changed.
If it has, update the path in the connector:
Double-click the company name in Company List.
Amend the data directory, click Test Connection, then Save.
If you have trouble, delete the company and re-add it with the correct path.
If a data sync does not start automatically, start it manually.
5. Check Antivirus Software Settings
Ensure your antivirus is not blocking the Sage 50 Connector.
If blocked, add an exception or override the block. You may need IT support for this.
6. Check Sage Cloud Drive/Remote Data Access
If invoice statuses in Satago do not match Sage, your Sage Remote Data Access may not be updating.
Follow this Sage guide to check and update your Sage Cloud Drive or Remote Data Access.
7. Complete a Full Sync.
Double-click your company name in the Company List.
Click the dropdown arrow next to Sync Now and select Full Re-Sync.
You will be notified when the sync is complete.
