How do I set up Credit Control? (US)
Start with a small group of customers, check your templates and schedule, then switch reminders on.
Before you start, make sure you've connected Sage 50 and completed your first full sync. See How do I connect Sage 50 and set up Satago? (US).
1. Check your customers' email addresses
Reminders go to each customer's Primary contact. In Satago, go to Accounts > Customers, open a customer and select Contacts & Addresses to check. If an email address is missing or wrong, update it in Sage 50, then sync.
2. Choose a small group to start with
All customers start in the Default group. To start small:
Go to Credit Control > Group Configuration.
Click Create New Group, and give it a name that describes the group (e.g., ‘Late Payers’)
Select the customers you wish to add to this group
3. Edit your templates
Go to Credit Control > Group Configuration and select the group.
Under reminder emails, click Enable & review templates.
For each reminder, set how many days before or after the due date it's sent.
Edit the wording. To add customer or invoice details, click Snippets.
Untick Enable this template for any reminder you don't want to use.
Click Preview, then Save.
Edit your Statements and Thank You templates the same way.
4. Set your schedule
In Credit Control > Group Configuration, under Schedule, click Manage to choose the days and time emails are sent.
5. Check your sender details
Go to Credit Control > Additional Settings > Email to customize your Satago subdomain, sender name and email footer, and to add your logo.
6. Switch it on
Go to Credit Control > Credit Control Centre and switch on each message type you want to send for your new group.
Satago then sends each overdue invoice the reminder that matches how overdue it is.
7. Review and expand
Check what's been sent in Credit Control > Sent, and what's coming up in Scheduled. When you're happy, add more customers to your group or create a new group
Important
Your plan includes 100 reminder emails every rolling 30 days.
