Connecting Sage 50 pre v29.2 to Satago
This FAQ is designed to help Sage 50 users (pre v29.2) connect their accounting package to Satago using the Satago Sage 50 Connector.
What is the Satago - Sage 50 Connector?
The Sage 50 Connector is a tool that allows Satago to securely pull your accounting data from Sage 50 (desktop version) and import it into Satago. This is a read-only connection: Satago will not push any information back to your Sage 50, and you can uninstall the connector at any time.
How do I connect Sage 50 pre v29.2 to Satago?
Follow these steps to connect your Sage 50 accounts package:
Go to app.satago.com and choose Sign in with Sage.
Once you sign in with Sage, you'll be asked to connect your accounting package. If you use Sage 50, which is a desktop version of Sage, you'll need to install Satago's Sage 50 connector which will pull your data from Sage and push it into Satago. This is a read-only connection, meaning Satago will not push any information back to your Sage 50 and you can uninstall the connector from your machine at any time.
Where should I install the Satago Sage 50 Connector?
The connector must be installed on the same machine/server where your main Sage 50 is installed. If your Sage 50 is managed by your IT team, please ask them to assist with the installation.
Follow the steps below to connect your Sage 50 accounts package:
Once signed in, select Sage from the list of compatible accounting packages.
Choose Sage 50.
Copy your Satago License key and click Download to install the Satago Sage 50 Connector.
Once downloaded, click on the ^ arrow to run the installer:
Click Next on the first screen.
Read and accept the License Agreement.
Paste your License key when prompted, then click ‘Next’.
The component to install will be selected automatically, then click 'Next'
Confirm the installation folder and click Next.
Close any conflicting programs and click Install.
Click Finish to run the connector.
When the Company List dialogue appears, click Add Company.
Select your company from the dropdown list.
Enter the Sage Username (usually 'MANAGER') and Password, then click Test Connection.
Once validated successfully, click 'Save'.
The data synchronisation will begin immediately and the Sync Status column will reflect the state of the synchronisation. When the status changes to Synched you can click 'Exit'. The connector will continue to automatically run every 3 hours as a background service.
Return to the Satago registration flow in your web browser and click Continue.
Select your company from the dropdown list (if you have multiple companies, you’ll see more than one option) and click Continue.
The data import progress will be displayed. When complete, click Get Started.
You will land on your Dashboard in Satago where you can complete the set up for the features you are most interested in:
How do I access the Sage 50 Connector after installation?
You can access the Sage 50 Connector from the system tray on the machine where it was installed. Right-click the 'S' icon.
And select Company List to manage your connected companies.
